 'Serene'

Comments I received

in the period November 2001 – April 2003
while I was working on the 'Serene'
songs

• Kenneth B:

No# 1,6,10 er helt vilde. (July 28, 2002)

• Kris Adams:
Sounds great just the way it is.....lovely! (27 Jan, 2002)

• Cyril:
What happened to the bass? The way it is mastered, there is much too little dynamics in the bass area. (21 Jan, 2002)

Mitch Seidman: Your songs are really lovely.
Keep up the great work and always(and all ways) follow your heart. (2 Jan, 2002)

• Ed:
I've really enjoyed all of them. Especially "L'aube" and "Love Her Your Way," and "Hear My Song." The chorus on "Love Her Your Way" makes me melt! Completely lovely and true sounding. "Never Free" has been stuck in my head all night. I truly love all of them individually and together. You're onto something personal and authentic. Keep on it! Your lyrics are beautiful. I have one suggestion regarding the lyrics; enunciate clearly and be sure your voice doesn't ever become buried in the accompanyment.
I'm not a fan of synthesized backgrounds, but I love what your brother did. In fact, I now have trouble imagining these songs any other way. (Dec 28, 2001)

• Franziska:
By the way, I was looking at your webpage today, and I wanted to tell you that the lyrics you wrote for your new project are just wonderful. (Dec 26, 2001)

• Keiichi:
This is you.
Your instinct tells you to let it out.
Are you gonna use real musicians ?
The Songs are there, so you should wait more time to have better
sound, not by looking for sounds from computer. Hear your sound and let
sound come to you. That's the best way, but I am sure you are doing anyway.
If you listen to your songs without "will", you will get "that" sound.
Make whole life easier in this way.
The Songs are there. (Dec 25, 2001)

• Seung Hee:
Hey, it was very, very beautiful.
When did you write all the songs? It's amazing
I read the lyrics real heartfelt. (Dec 22, 2001)

• Jack:
I was able to download and listen to some of your new songs. I
really like the original newage one. I like the way your voice and the
backup complement each other -- the total effect is really nice.
Lots of expression and emotional communication. Don't quit singing. (Dec 21, 2001)

Kevin:
This project is what you need. A project that is born of yu, created by you is what you need. You voice is always so crystal clear. Don't let people sway you too much into making it a commercial tune. The bottom line is going to be yours on this style. As long as you follow your heart you will be well.

• Edward:
I heard the song Hear my song and it really touched me. I hope it conjures similar feelings in other people. It would be beautiful if you could touch many people in that way.

• Jarkko:
I got a kick out the "Serene" thing, what I heard was beautiful.

Comments specifically for 'Evident Like Breathing':
• Alexandra:
Nice 'spirit'. But the voice is too unclear.
• Katharina:
The music should be louder, the voice lower. There are some nice details in the music, but they cannot be heard properly. Don't like the voice echos - they tend to make it sound kind of superficial.
• Finn:
Like it very much. Beautiful intro. Blured text, what is the lyrics about? I like the sound collage
• Linda:
Can't understand the lyrics. Should be more clearly pronounced. But I like the atmosphere.
• Cyril:
The piano sounds too synthetic. It is going to sound better with real musicians. Generally, you have some good sounds.

• Birgit:
The instrumental part in the middle is too long!

Comments specifically for 'L'Aube':
• Finn:
The voice should be more in front. I like the harmonies, and the acoustic guitarplay.
Why do we hear children playing?
• Birgit:
It's my favorite so far. I like the vers so much that I would like to hear it repeated a third and forth time.
• Jarkko:
I never heard you sing in French and I'm a sucker for the language when it's sung.
The guitar part sounds really nice.

Comments specifically for 'Never Free':
• Finn:
You obviously need to work more on this song, the sections don't blend smoothly enough. The drums are too dominant.
• Birgit:
Too much sound of wind. Too loud, the drums...
• Linda:
Don't like this one. Things are somehow not connected or together.
